Who We Are

It all started so:SAMTSKHE-JAVAKHETI, which is one of the most beautiful regions of GEORGIA, somehow remained abandoned after the collapse of the Soviet Union. A small number of tourists mainly used to come to see the troglodyte site-Vardzia Cave Monastery; the lack of tourist infrastructure and damaged roads leading to the region were our reality, which in turn led to a delay of tourism activities. When the honored guests arrived in the region, they used to contact me as a director of the troglodyte site to facilitate their stay at the place or to arrange their accommodation and safe stay. Therefore, I often had to bring them to my family. The fact that our family had wooden cottages in front of Vardzia Cave Monastery give us the idea to offer our visitors/tourist the accommodation in this building so-called Valodia’s cottage.

Many things have changed since then … Nowadays we have two stone and one-timber cottages only 2 kilometres from the famous Vardzia Cave Monastery Complex.
